How can a driver say that they did not see a pederestrian with a big umbrella in the crosswalk?

I got hit tonight in a crosswalk. I even made sure that no one was turning left this time. Then half way across, bam. i am being spun around. I only ended up with a bruised elbow. I think i have a sign over my head that says "Please hit me.'

Wow! Sorry to hear about your accident but so glad you weren't seriously injured. How did he not see you? Simple, he was not paying attention! He was obviously being distracted by something...on the phone, fiddling with the radio, eating, etc. Maybe he had even been drinking.

Unfortunately, when driving, people forget that they are in control of a lethal weapon. Yes, a car is a lethal weapon because it can kill. I've seen so many people in the E.R. due to needless accidents...caused by those who did not have their cars under control because they were distracted. Many victims were not lucky! Let's hope he learned a lesson and pays attention when driving in the future. Meanwhile, I am so glad you are safe! You might want to start carrying a brightly colored, flashing, noisy neon purse in the future (LOL)....maybe it will protect you from those that are careless.
