Because people suck. There is no longer personal responsibility, so everyone must vilify the implement of injury, and not the cause.

The owner is at fault by not keeping there animal in a controlled environment, this must be admitted, yet we never read about people getting attacked by a collie or a beagle. The vicious attacks are almost always carried out by a pitbull breed or pitbull/mixed breed of dogs. The animal instinctively will go from being a loving, kind dog to a time bomb that attacks children, adults and other animals. PLEASE do not feel that I am for getting rid of the breed, or blame the animal. I just feel that this type of dog needs to be handled much differently then other breeds to ensure the safety of the owners and others, something owners should consider before having a pitbull.

PItbulls is not like other breeds, yes it is more trainable and BUT it is also more powerful than any other dog, thats why a pitbull should be trained way better than a chihuahua or a beagle, only responsible owners should have pitbulls.

You are right.
"pit bull" terriers are actually one of the most TRAINABLE dog breeds.
Think of them as putty ready to be shaped.
When the owner does not want to take the time to train them with POSITIVE reinforcement, they get bored and destructive and as the owner reacts negatively, so does the dog.
Pitts want to please their master and if master is mean, the dog assumes that is how they should behave.
A "mirror" if you will.

I had a pitbull and a dalmation and surprisingly the dalmation was alot more active and viscious then the pitbull. And usually its the owners fault. I agree with you!

Yeah yeah we know that, but it is the dog that does the biting. And I think the owners do get some punishment.

Amen to that. There are so many ignorant people in this world, and the media is feeding them the bs so it's not helping any either.
