Most people (not here, in general) belong to one of the following categories of fanatic:

1. the ones that think that being fat is beautiful:
whatever their weight is, they embrace it, even when it is a danger to their health;

2. the ones that think that being bony is beautiful:
they think of weight in absolute terms, and end up being only bones and fat, with no muscles whatsoever;

3. the ones that think that being hypermuscular is beautiful:
they think that the more muscles the better, regardless to how they look.

Now ALL THE 3 CATEGORIES are dangerous and, yes, ugly. We should teach our kids to be *healthy* instead: with the right proportion of muscle for their bone structure and body type, and an appropriate amount of fat to make the look "gentle".

But the problem is, there is too much reliance on what others think and/or indulgent overacceptance, and not enough stress on *healthy* self-discipline.

Have you looked at fashion magazines and diet magazines lately? Most of the models are STICK THIN!! I know how it feels because I suffered from it as well. Its hard to see a stick thin model and even though you are active and eat REALLY healthy you still are not that thin. Society says that Beautiful=Thin. I know now that thats not how it is. But looking at the way beautiful is portrayed, can't you see why girls would be worried about their weight? The solution is to stop saying that beautiful=thin, but rather that beauty is from the inside out and not from the outside in. Even now, I still feel trapped in the idea of thin=beautiful even though I know that that is not how it is. Can you see where I'm going with this? I could go on and on and on. But I don't wanna take up all your time.

If you're proportioned correctly, then don't worry about an extra 10 lbs. Just eat healthy and keep exercising, and you'll be fine.

Though on a negative note, despite the fact that I eat VERY healthy, and I exercise an hour a day, I'm nearly 100 lbs overweight. And I know having 2 kids doesn't excuse all of it, if any, but sometimes you just have to accept yourself as you are.

So many are worried either way....too skinny or to fat. Some even think they can't be skinny enough. Which is downright disgusting. Girls that are broom handle skinny are NOT ATTRACTIVE. A woman can be fit and filled out in all the right places. Curves are what makes a woman attractive not straight lines. So many woman think a guy sees them as fat even when they are perfectly shaped because somewhere down the line someone has said they were fat. And no matter how much they lose they always hear those words.

You know, I have been thinking a lot about this lately...because I realized how much I WORRY about my weight. What is the big fricken deal! Right, you don't want to be too overweight to be healthy, but it like, if your not thin, your not beautiful, and I'm getting really sick of it! Sorry to rant and rave there, but I just don't understand it either.

So the question asked is "What have we done to make so many sad little girls so worried about their weight?"

Well... - THE FACKING MEDIA puts unrealistic ideas into their heads which in turn causes lots of health risks, including eating disorders and depression.

I'm not saying that's the only thing that causes this among young girls, but it is one of the main causes of why they are "sad and worried about their weight".

we are so worrying because of the fact not all men are such as you. maximum men desire a woman with a flat abdomen, large breast and in the back of, with thick thighs, intense-high quality legs, intense-high quality hair (frequently long), an exquisite face, quickly teeth and each thing. it truly is virtually impossible. So whilst a number of you men see a woman and he or she doesnt have some or all of that, you may not be interested in her in view that's what some men desire in a woman. So on condition that that's what some desire, some ladies attempt to in positive condition that class, and if a woman doesnt in positive condition that or have any of that, she get made exciting of now and back. Even ladies make exciting of different ladies that have a splash greater. in spite of the fact that, i dont think of ladies could concentration on their seems that lots, because of the fact if the guy didnt such as you tactics you desire earlier and now that your physique has replaced, he by no ability truly wanted you in the 1st place. yet one greater reason could be because of the fact in music movies and magazines and fashions are continuously slender and now and back busty; some are even attempting to shed pounds and finally end up being bulimic and anorexic. So whilst ladies are in lots of cases surrounded via that, they might sense as though they're ignored and desire to be slender too.

Our society has conditioned us to follow what they think, and right now they think that being stick thin is beautiful. It's hurting the teenage population so much because they want to belong, and be seen as beautiful by everyone as most teenage would want. It's too sad that were in this situation and I don't think it will go away soon unless the media or society shows a better image and parents set good examples to their kids how to be secure of themselves and have a good self-esteem.

A wild guess would be seeing all the anorexic stars on the cover of almost every major magazine in the country. Not exactly the image a young adult needs.

I don't think WE have done anything. Maybe their parents have, by feeding them junk. Many young girls are right to be concerned about their weight, because they are overweight.

But your advice is good. That's what they need to do.
