Hmm..."normal"/valid reasons for crying are as many as the number of people on the planet, I think. So no, I don't think that was a strange reason. It just reflected something in your subconscious, your strong desire to have kids. Also...hmm...I hardly think this a proper throwback question, but have you been having problems with your family planning? You might want to look into that--maybe it's starting to be a stressor. If it is, do something about it because there is some truth to the advice of older generations. Trying too hard or worrying about it makes it less likely for you have kids.
So there. Good luck! One thing that is obvious is that you are quite sensitive, and that's one of the traits of a good mother.:)

I've seen this one and it makes me tear up too! It's cute and makes you cry because you don't expect it to be her cute little boy.
Also if you are planning on having kids, it's possibly your internal mothering emotions coming into play.
It's a great commercial...but it just doesn't beat the John Deere one. A dad comes sleepily down the stairs and his 2 daughters and wife are in the kitchen waiting on him and they start screaming HAPPY BIRTHDAY! The dad opens a tie and then some socks and then he opens a box...in the box is a John Deere cap. The dad picks it up and says "OH THANK YOU girls! It's just what I always wanted!" You start to tear up because he is so happy that he has this cap...but then he looks down in the box with shock at a set of keys with a John Deere keychain. He looks at his wife in disbelief...then at his kids...and then at the box again...the scene flashes to a brand new John Deere in the garage with a big red bow on it.
The commerical chokes you up because you see the wonderful Dad completely satisifed with a 15 dollar cap. You like him...then suddenly he gets the gift of the year...Commercials like this rock. There should be more of them!

Maybe unconsciously (or consciously) you are hoping for a relationship with a son or daughter like the one you saw in the commercial. One where taking them one on one for dates is something you and your child will do regularly. Don't feel bad for tearing up. It was a cute commercial.

Because it is totally sweet. I know which commercial you are talking about. If you are wanting children, then the thought of walking into a restaurant and hearing your child yell for you would make your heart ache. You want to have that, too, so it is normal for it to make you cry...even if they are tears of joy because you are going to have that someday, too.

Not strange at all. You are planning a family in some way you pycologically connected that momment with oneday experiencing it yourself. It could also just be hormonal and your senses and emotions are heightened. I get emotional over silly things too sometimes. Usually the week before my monthly visitors.

Maybe it is tears of joy, you might have been thinking that if you have kids of your own one day they will say that to you.
