I give blood whenever I can. I'm O+ so I know it will not go to waste!!
For the record... you're welcome. I do know how truly life-saving blood transfusions can be. My girlfriend almost died in a car accident, but because other people gave blood she is completely recovered.
I am very happy to hear that you and your baby are doing well! God bless :)

I plan to. I started college at 16 (through dual enrolment, still in high school but doing it at the college for college credit). the college had a Blood drive the DAY BEFORE I turned 17, so they told me I was to young to give. the next drive they have (somtime this spring, I think) I will give. My parent both work at the school and gave blood on that day. My older brother did too. so 3 people gave blood, and I was not allowed on that day. but as I said, I will when I get the chance.

I'm 19 and I've donated ever since it was legal for me to do so. I've donated 9 times, which adds up to just over a gallon! I am always afraid and sort of hate doing it, but it's stories like yours that make me continue to sign up for blood drives. It's such a simple thing that can make such a difference in the lives of other people. I'm so glad you were both able to be all right partially because of it!

I'm a nurse and I used to work in a blood bank. I have had the pleasure of watching people flood in to donate and hung a bag in the hospital giving the blood to patients. That's really nice of you to thank those people who donated blood on your behalf. I'm a Christian and I strongly believe it was God himself that led the very people's blood to you and your beautiful baby used that day. It is our pleasure and duty to do our very best for you. Seeing the results is reward enough. Take care.

I give blood. I've not this last time ,due to not being in the country. I'm going to in a few weeks. I use to be afraid ,because as I was younger, in my 20's I passed out once, But all in right in the world now and I love to do it.
I'm glad to hear about some who benefited from blood donations and is doing well from it. .
By the way ... you are sooooo welcome..... ;)

I certainly do. I'm a frequent donor at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan. There is no substitute for human blood. . .and only 5% of those eligible to donate do. It's a pity that there is such a low percentage of donors. Congratulations to you and your baby!

Great. Yes. I hve donated blood to patients several times. It was very satisfying for me as blood donation is considered as a very great action as it saves life of a humanbeing. Good for those who are donating blood to patients. I also respect such persons.
