well i personally think its a cute name for a dog,Muffin...
but on the other hand it depends if it suits the breed of dog...

what im trying to say is that it should suit the dogs appearance, for instance:say the dog was a dalmation[which im guessing its not],its name would be probobly spotty or something like that....

if the dog is small ang will perhaps never grow huge
here are some names:
lucy,sam,lucky,susie or any small names...muffin.
if the dog is getting bigger thn here are some names:
josie, buster, but im not saying do any thing too original,i like something different....

but, your dog your choice so its up to you what you want to call your pup.....

Muffin is a cute name for a little dog.
My "Muffin" was a black Pomeranian, that I rescued from a puppy mill back in 2000. She lived 6 beautiful years with me, until she passed away two months ago, she was 17 years old.

It's unusual, first because it's the name of a food. You know? Maybe when you hear it you think about how much you love muffins and how good they are, right? At least it's not real distinct like Sara Lee Blueberry homestyle muffin. Ya know?

Muffin is fine for a small dog like a terrier or mini schnauzer. But for a Great Dane, Bulldog, Rottweiler, Golden Retriever or any other large breed......NO.

My honest opinion- cute, but unoriginal. Find something with a special meaning.

I named my last dog Bud and called him Buddy. Nobody knows it, but I named him for the Budweiser box that I found to take him home in. In that box was one remaining beer, which I opened and drank part of. For a 9-year-old, I felt like I had gotten away with murder...drinking my first beer and all thanks to my new puppy.

If it's for a small dog, then it's a very cute name. If it's a big dog, then it does'nt really fit. If you like the name, whether it small or large, then go for it.

If it is an English Bull dog, or a Bull Mastiff, we might need to talk! =-)
If it's a little dog, it is a fine name.

Overdone, think up something more original and people will remember the dog.

I didn't know dogs were prey animals. Sounds like a snack to me.
