Any type of chemical process you use on your hair weakens it and makes it dry and brittle and sometimes fall out, not all at once but little by little. You need to condition your hair every time you wash it and give it a deep conditioning every month. I like to wash my hair, then put conditioner on it, lay back in tub and relax for 2or 5 minutes (with hair out of water) then rinse that out and towel dry my hair lightly and then put just a dab of cond. in palm of hand rub hands together and then hang head upside down and rub your hands thru your hair and then comb out- DON'T Rinse this out. It makes hair really soft and silky looking.

This is a tricky question! It really depends on your hair type. The bottom line is that dying your hair is causing chemical damage to the inner cortex of your hair. Think of shingles on a roof. Chemical processes pry these shingles up and damage the internal structure of the hair and even when you neutralize the dye, the shingles are left up a bit and thats where breakage begins. Since you dye every 3 months you might experience alot of breakage if the dye isnt applied to your roots only. Dying doesnt necessarily thin the hair. Thinning comes from aging or a restricted hair follicle due to genetic traits. If your hair is thinning or you brush your hair and alot come out on the brush this may be allopecia and you might want to get it checked out by a dermatologist. It could be breakahe from the dying as well. If you are a religious dyer then you have to be a religious conditioner. I would recommend you use a repairing conditioner everyday for a week following a dye job and then every other day. If your hair is naturally fine lessen the days of conditioning. You have to find what works for you. Good Luck!

There is always a risk with dying your hair. But with good treatment you should be able to keep a healthy hair.
Make sure you do choose a dye thats not too strong, if you change your colors a lot.
If you're going from light to dark maybe try using a non permanent hair dye instead. The dye should be ones without ammonia. Hair dye without ammonia works just by temporarily storing color on hair strain. does no damage to your hair =] Loreal Casting is not a bad one.
Though, if you bleach (lighten the color of your hair) alot, make sure you use a good hair nutrition product. Because bleaching takes out the pigment of your hair, that (well naturally ... ) can't be returned.
In terms of treatment, you need to make sure to keep a good level of moisture in your hair. Use a good conditioner. If you keep your hair hydrated, after coloring you should have a healthy hair.
Salonist always recommends their products, they don't necessarily recomend it because it's good for you either. Kertase was the moisture treatement I use when I use to bleach alot. It's pretty good =]

Hi
If the product you are using is good you should have no side effects of dying your hair.
If the product is not good / not suiting your hair type yes you could have scalp allergies and hair fall in which case you should stop using all dyes for a while and then try another brand after a couple of months.
All dying however does dry the hair and it becomes essential to nourish it with a good conditioner. Also switch to a milder shampoo.

I've been dying my hair for 3 years. My hair doesn't get thinner, but some of my friends hair does. I advise you use a pretty cheap shampoo. It's called Equate. Get the gold one because that really helps dyed hair.

I don't think you'd lose your hair from dying it, if you don't dye
it more than once every 4 to 6 week. Also, use good shampoos
and conditioners. Deep conditioners after you dye it is also a
good idea.

The peroxide in some hair dyes is very harsh and would certainly contribute to damage to the follicles over time, and might result in greater than normal hair loss. The really creepy thing about peroxide is that it migrates to the bladder and is a precurser of bladder cancer. Yuk! I would check out henna as a temporary hair color.

My reaction on your question will probably disappoint you. however hairdressers and cosmetics distributors could such as you to have confidence in any different case, commonly the chemical compounds used to dye hair are adverse to the structural integrity of the hair shaft. suggestions you may assemble in this count number from those with a vested activity will in all probability inform you that death hair is a threat loose technique. you may in all probability get closer to the reality in case you have been to pose your question to a mind-blowing dermatologist. Hair dye could upload synthetic pigment through a fashion of oxidation, or it eliminate organic pigment , referred to as alleviation, from the hair. while expert hairdresser, makes use of this technique, the wear is extremely minimum, just about no longer something. while the hair is broken above 30%, the wear turns into greater sizeable. greater chemical, greater harm.

Coloring your hair should not make it thinner. It could however cause your hair to become drier and thus more prone to breaking. A good regimen of a leave-in conditioner and shampoo's for color-treated hair might be helpful.

Its not healthy for your hair to use any type of chemicals. If you are dying your hair ever month or so I think you should probably try to stop because to many chemicals can take a bad toll on your hair and damage it. Chemicals can also cause split ends, dryness and also thinning.
