If the bone was a raw bone it should be ok. It is when people give their dogs bones that have been cooked that problems arise (chicken or otherwise). The Cooking process changes the properties of any bone causing them to shatter and splinter. If given too many cooked bones can cause permanent damage to the digestive track.

BUT if you are still worried call your local vet or animal advisory clinic.

Good luck :)

Why would a mother of 4 week old puppies need 2 acres to run? I'm lucky if I can tear my new mothers away long enough to go potty. COOKED chicken bones are dangerous for any dog; RAW chicken bones, OTOH, are fine for most dogs. Which did your mother feed? If she gave mother/puppies cooked bone, she has endangered all of them. I've never seen 4 week old puppies eat bones. Even when I give my 4 week old Siberian puppies raw chicken drumsticks, they just strip the meat and leave the bone. Chicken ribs are, however, tiny, and I suppose could be consumed by a 4 week old puppy. I can't imagine it would be good for their little digestive systems, but I'm not sure. This definitely warrants a call to your vet.

If it was raw your puppy should be okay. If cooked, it can splinter and do damage but it is also possible the puppy will pass it safely or without anything dangerous happening. Look for blood in the stool or any discomfort and check with your Vet if you and when you feel you need to. Keep chicken bones away from your pup unless you are starting a raw diet. Same for other cooked bones. They can all splinter. Cooked Chicken bones are sharper than most other cooked bones.

If he didn't choke, the initial risk and choking hazard has past. Most likely the bone will pass through the digestive system. Be sure to check the stools over the next few days, up to a week. Watch for blood. If the puppy shows any signs of distress (lathargic, not eating, etc), get him to the vet. The bone can get lodged or rip the digestive system if it is jagged.

I really depends on the size of the bone, but if he didn't choke on it then it will probably pass in time. Or if you think it will make you feel better you can always see a vet to know for sure.

If the c/bone was raw your pup will be fine i feed my 13wk pup c/necks she loves them, they are a good intro to larger bones this is also good in the strenghtning and cleaning of your puppys teeth and if your pup got hold of a cooked c/bone and chewed & swallowed with no gagging or choking he/she should be fine give him/her plenty of water and keep an eye on him/her

If he chewed and swallowed it normally without gagging and isn't gagging now, nothing.

The danger with chicken bones is they splinter and tear the dog's throat as he/she swallows.

You'd know if that happens.
