If you recently dyed it shampoo your hair, because your actually not supposed to shampoo it right after because it takes some of the dye out, so keep shampooing and it will get lighter. I know you don't want to dye it again but just a thought if its to dark for you just put some copper, or blonde (light brown) highlights in it and you'll be amazed at how much lighter it will look. Becareful and it'd be better if you got it professionally done, but we all can't pull out that kind of money on the spot, good luck :)

Did you dye it yourself or go to a salon? The last time I had my hair dyed really dark in a salon it was dark reddish brown and I thought it looked awful, but after 1-2 weeks the color went down a LOT, they just had to make it that color for it to get the right color... so I would just live with it for a few days... if after a few washes the color doesn't fade down - I think you can go to a local salon and ask if they could put toner in your hair to tone it down.

when tinting your hair all ways look and see what the base color is hair tint has blue.voilet.gold /green and red like i said all way check your basr color for example if you hair is blonde you would wanna stay away from any thing containg ash unless you want your hair to turn greenish,,,,What im guessing you did was get a hair dye that had red in it...The only thing i cant say to do is re color it or you can use tint remover but this is so very harsh on the hair....you could do this get a demi color but this time pick a demi color containg green as a base color green will counter act the red in the color same as when you covering up a blemish in makeup green all ways take red away... I do recomend you use only tint from a beauty supply store there not the much more and so much better for on your hair shaft...Good luck any question IM me

It will be ok. look on the bright side at least it is not green. It turned red because you have red undertones in your hair and the dye had golden tones in it . Anytime you use a dye with golden tones you will get a result that is slightly red. if your natural hair is lighter in a few washes you will see color fade and your natural highlights come through. Please wait at least a month before redying or else you could dry out or get a result in color that is worse. It probably looks better than you think. Give it a few days.

Try washing it a lot. I have black hair but I dyed I brown and the same thing happened. I couldn't get mine off so I dyed it back.

in case you at present dyed it shampoo your hair, because of the fact your surely no longer meant to shampoo it top after because of the fact it takes the extremely some dye out, so shop shampooing and it will get lighter. i understand you do no longer want to dye it lower back yet in uncomplicated terms a theory if its to darkish for you merely positioned some copper, or blonde (easy brown) highlights in it and you would be surprised at how plenty lighter it is going to look. Becareful and it would be extra useful in case you bought it professionally completed, yet all of us won't be in a position to pull out that form of money instant, stable success :)

You have few options here. if it's too dark then your going to have some problems. You can get some kiwi conditioner that will take the warmth out. You can also use a semi perm color to get the warmth out.
If all else fails ask your hairstylist.
Good Luck

Wash it every day with Prell - it's highly detergent and will help fade it. Be sure to condition a lot though.

It'll eventually fade, if you have the patience. If not, go to a salon. Don't try to fix it by yourself!
