the bulge looks like a human beer belly, or like testicles look if they were inside. i noticed a while ago, and it doesnt feel hard, it's more muscle-y, like fat. could it just be that he's getting fat, but then again he's not growing out to the sides, the fat just hangs like a belly in the back legs area. i found him when he was 4 months old and took him to all his shots, the vet said to come back when he was 1, which is in february. he never gave any problems at the vet, not even a meow, and was negative for worms and everything else.i'm just worried because the "fat" is concentrated on the lower belly, but it's not a bump, just kind of flabby.

It does kind of sound like the abdominal fat pad, but it sounds like you are concerned about him enough that a visit to your vet wouldn't be a bad idea. You could always ask if he could get his shots a bit early instead of waiting until February, and if he hasn't been neutered yet, he's certainly old enough now!

Good luck!

Is this guy neutered? If so, and the bulge started soon after he was altered, then it's probably just what we call a neuter belly. For some reason it seems that after you get a cat fixed, they always get a flabby little belly afterward. If he's been to the vet since he developed the bulge and the vet didn't seem concerned, then it's probably nothing to worry about.

it shouldnt be anything to worry about...it should just be a fat cat...but if you are worried just take him into the vet a little earlier...it really shouldnt be any thing to worry about...i have seen plenty of fat cats...if it eats to much just feed it less...it should cut down the fat...or tey to feed it a different brand of food...they make some healthy cat food...that give them energy and it should get the cat to loose that mass..plus the food has vitamins...good for the cat...the only problem is it is expensive.but i hope everything goes ok at the vet...good luck

make him exercise a bit more - climbing, running, etc to reduce the flab. Some cats do have this kind of physique which i call "pajama pants." I have a cat like that before and the vet told me that he needed more exercise.
