Hi there...as a general rule, cats really shouldn't eat any human foods because some of the foods we eat contain ingredients can be toxic to cats. For example salt consumed in great amounts can cause electrolyte imbalances, onions and garlic cause Heinz body Anaemia and can be fatal. There are many other human food ingredients which are toxic as well and the list is too great to mention, but here's a website that includes a couple handful more: http://www.peteducation.com:80/article.cfm?cls=0&cat=1276&articleid=1029

Boiled chicken without seasonings is good for those moments when kitty is clambering and the store is out of the question. Second, a quick, broiled unseasoned fish can also work well if it isn't too fatty. Third, other unseasoned meat. Most cats, unless desperately starving will not eat dog kibble no matter how you doctor it. They might take a nibble as a kitten (curiosity) but will avoid otherwise. The only exception to this is Wilderness/Blue Bufflao. For some reason, my cats will nibble on that. However, seeing the price, you'd be better off with the chicken. While cats love tuna (it smells yummy) and milk (it's kitty candy) they might have bad effects. Tuna sometimes is too rich for a cat's digestive tract if they have been on a kibble diet and can result in vomiting or diareah, Milk is indigestible for adult cats and should only be given as a treat. If you have a tiny kitten, milk is okay since the digestive change takes place a couple of weeks after weaning.

If she really wants it why not? Just don't smother it on a big piece and feed it as a main meal. But a little corner of your toast yea sure no problems! I use to do this to my cat all the time until she was put down of old age. It never hurt her! We assumed it mixed with the butter was an acquired taste for her. Vegemite is a healthier bread spread.... better than peanut paste or stuff like that anyway.

I occassionally allow my cat to have a small amount of vegemite on toast ... My dog also adores it ... HOWEVER vegemite has a very high salt content and it may not be that good for the cat's digestive system.

vegemite doesn't have garlic in it. It is a yeast extract product. one of the world's highest sources of vitamin b.

would you eat Wiskas?

I must admit I did once wipe off some excess vegemite off a knife onto my cats paw. It licked for ages.

As a treat, yes
She still needs a well balanced diet with lots of meat and NO corn or wheat products.
Cheers.
