I started to potty train my son when he turned 2 and it took until he was 3 and a half before he was trained. I was very consistent with him but I guess that he just wasn't ready.

Yeah I am kind of going through the same thing. My son is already 3 though! ~~ I can feel people cringing as they read that. ~~ He pees in the toilet and has consistently for over a year but the pooping I am really struggling with. He runs and hides almost everytime. The way I got him to quit peeing in his pants was to buy a timer. I set it for every two hours! He thought it was a fun game everytime it went off he would get all excited and say TIME TO GO POTTY!! After about a week of that he was going on his own ... but as far as the pooping .. I have no idea .. I am still struggling myself with that one.

Try to avoid the subject for a couple of weeks, then suggest that your child do more for herself. My daughter was terrible! She would scream and cry when I put her on the potty. I read an article on the net that suggested sending your child to take care of things on her own. I would tell my daughter to go potty by herself. If I suggested it and she didn't go, then I would tell her she had to change herself. Obviously I had to help with the poop messes, but after a few days, she started to go into the bathroom on her own. She would go in and change herself, then come tell me she went. I usually tried to stay close, so I knew that she was doing as she should. When I first read the article I thought it was silly, but it said that it was an independence issue with toddlers who were resistant to potty training. I was absolutely amazed at how quick she caught on. On a funny note, it was really cute to hear her go potty, then quietly cheer for herself!!! Good luck!!

It took us about three months. But my son was 2 years and six months and told me no more diapers i want undies. She is still a bit young dont worry im sure before three she will have it down but remember to make it FUN and do the HAPPY DANCE when she does go. And ask her every five minutes im seriouse you have to be on her to GO GO GO in the potty and make it a big deal when she does kids thrive off of praise. Good luck

It takes a lengthy time period to potty prepare!! My daughter is totally potty educated in the course of the day. That took about 3 months. right here and there she would have an coincidence in the time of tap time and at evening she ought to placed on a "pull-up".
