yep got 2 of them!
had them my whole life (about 7 to date).. i love them.. my latest has such nice character.. they are dopey but loving.. they kinda never really grow up.. when i was a kid they were a joy to have around.. they love the beach (or water) i haven't had one that knows how to fetch.. all want to get the ball and then for you to chase them.. not aggressive.. they sound scary (good bark) but have never had one single problem with them.. i would recommend them to anyone..
need anything else??
oh yeh they drool and snore.. get used to it..
i've had an aloof one but my latest is one that loves to be near and get heaps of pats.. just depends on their own character..

Boxers are awesome. I used to be an Animal Control Officer. I personally always had Border Collies or Cattle dogs. But when I worked as ACO I started liking boxers because of their personality. They look vicious, but usually pretty sweet dogs. They express themselves with their eyes and those big lips! Two years ago I adopted a 2 year old Male from Boxer Rescue. He had major separation anxiety and would not eat if my husband or I was not around. He has overcome that, but he is hard to keep weight on. He loves the car and rides but then yawns the whole ride in the car!! He is active in the evening when we get home from work, but sleeps most the day.(Of course, I'm used to hyper herding dogs) Go get a "Boxer" specific breed book. (I got one off e-bay for pretty cheap) They are really different dogs. He is such a great dog and protective of our ranch but not aggressive.

I've had my boxer since he was a pup and he is now 9 years old. They are very athletic dogs and love to play a lot, If you have a big yard they will love it because they love to run around. They are not agressive but are very protective, so if a stranger enters the boxers territory he will not be very nice.
Boxer's are very intellegent animals and will obey their owners if they are taught properly. Boxer's can also jump very high, when my boxer was younger he would jump our 4ft. fence.
Just keep in mind that a boxer needs plenty of exercise and love, just like any other dog or animal and they also like to sleep a lot. Mine sleeps in the morning and is active in the evening.

I've rescued & re-homed a few. Love them to death & they love back twice as much. Points to consider.....
Some drool, many are gassy, scare some people, need to be trained, very expressive, can be aggressive when guarding-mine would not let the meter man do his job, sometimes think they are lap dogs, smart, athletic, can jump & climb, they are justa s good from the shelter as they are if you pay $1000 for em

i'm wearing one right now....lol
as with all dogs....their attitudes develop from how you as the owner inter-act with. you need to learn to be the pack leader, or else your dog will lead for you...and that means you could have a very nasty dog even though the breed says otherwise....
you might wanna visit your local humane society and hang around the dogs that they have...it would help you choose which one's best for you...
good luck

The temperament is very good but with strangers and other dogs can be protective to thier owners (agressive to strangers and other dogs) unless trained properly and well socialized. this is not for dogs they live with. This dog seems like a very good dog for you to have because it is fine alone and not agressive at all.
