Consider, Jesus died to save bad people. If you terminate someone's life before they are saved, then for that person you have made Jesus' death on the cross, a failure! Do you want to be the one to explain to God why there were considerations more important then the cross? Or, would you extend to the cross, more time?

Not all Christians believe in capital punishment.
But something you may want to consider. Condemned prisoners on death row, many who have lived there lives, doing terrible things. When they hear the good news of what Jesus Christ did for them and that He has forgiven them, many get saved. It seems most of us don't turn to Christ until we're in that place where we've either hit rock bottom or in the case of these prisoners... faced with our own mortality

Maybe some Christians believe in it, but not every christian agrees with capital punishment. And I can agree with your post to a point. However, I'm not sure about your logic that by terminating someone's life before they are saved that means that Jesus' death on the cross was a failure. That would be like saying that a person who is murdered would also cause Jesus to be a failure.

Obviously you know the OT commands it as some evil must be eradicated.
Obviously you know Christians are of a mixed mind on this.
The principal is being subject to the governing authorities, derived from the 4th Commandment. The issue is how to best rid society of evil and scare off others from similar acts.
The person who is executed has the same opportunity as the person killed in an accident/heart attack/you or I. They have today.

we are given free will. free will to choose to do what is right.....or wrong. for all wrong choices there are consequences. the concept of "capital punishment" is not a punishment. the concept is protection. if one willingly and knowingly takes another life, one will, most likely, do it again. God will forgive this, and ALL other transgressions, if you believe that is what Christ came to do. the government's choice to terminate is to protect all others from the repeat offense.

I don't believe in capital punishment. Some Christian churches have found a way to justify opposing abortion and supporting capital punishment. Thou shall not murder, kill, take a life, is pretty clear to me.

You lack logic. Jesus was a rabbi and the Law says that if you take a life you must give up your own.

That's not logical... that argument would support the death penalty because then the person would know exactly when they are going to die and would have time to repent... if they don't repent it's their fault not the executioners fault

That's the stupidest argument against the death penalty I've ever heard...

Because the right wing majority (bible thumpers) in this country only cares about the life of fetuses. ONCE born, they could care less

I don't believe in it. It clearly states in Genesis that only God is permitted to take a life. Please don't lump all Christians into one belief categoriy.
