Use aloe vera if you have it. I have used white vinegar before. It takes away the sting, but it doesn't have the vitamin E that is in most aloe vera. Unfortunately, not much can be done to take away the redness. You will have to wait to heal and cover up with make up in the meantime.

a spray bottle containing cool water and a little vinegar will be your friend or you won't sleep tonight. If it gets really bad, fill a cool bathtub with water, and slowly add hot water if it gives you chills. Aloe will help it heal, and you can get the kind wiht lidocaine which will soothe briefly. I llike to keep it n the fridge, but on the first day that might give you chills, especially on your face. That will be nice tomorrow, though, and then keep using it for a few days so you don't peel as bad. Don't use soap on the bad areas for a few days or that will dry out your skin more. Tylenol will help with pain and possible fever. Pretty much it's just gonna suck for a couple days. Good luck! Oh yeah, and if you have bad blisters or are burned on over 1/2 your body, especially your face, you should call a doctor or go in.

Try getting some Aloe Vera. It's great for sunburns. It's made for helping them and the gel works perfectly! Next time, try wearing a higher number in sunscreen to prevent this. And wait five to ten minutes after applying the sunscreen before getting in the water to let it set in. Bad sunburns can cause skin cancer later so don't take the risk!

The worst sunburn I ever had was from falling asleep in the sun during a heatwave in the south of England. The reason that I got burnt so badly was because I'd spent the last few months living in the shadow of a Scottish mountain, so my skin had lost all protection against sunlight. The worst part of that sunburn was on the tops of my feet because it meant that I could hardly bear to wear shoes for about a month and it was very painful when walking. I was sunburnt over much of the rest of my body too, except for where my clothes had protected me.

If you have any blisters at all, please see a doctor at once. This is nothing to mess with, especially when you're talking about permanent damage to your face!
If you're just red, try the aloe products available with lidocaine for comfort. Aspirin may help as well. If you get itchy as you heal, the Aveeno oatmeal bath soak is great (lukewarm bath).
Be sure to apply a high SPF sunscreen in the meantime to avoid further damage, or better yet, cover up as much as possible.

Different from the norm....but I have always used Noxzema or the generic version. It helps to take the sting out. It was a life saver growing up with an outside pool.

Go to the first aid section of a store & find a product called SOALRCAINE....
This stuff will take the fire & burn out of the sun!!!! It also has aloe to help with healing & help keep you from peeling.....
Remember!!! SUNSCREEN!!! burns, especially bad burns can open the skin up to skin cancer, just like tanning does. ALWAYS protect the skin.
Also, the Solarcaine is a spray so you don't have to touch the burn to apply it.

You will need to keep your body temperature down. You will probably feel sick. And definitely use Aloe Vera and vitamin E on your skin in liberal amounts. Drink lots of water, not Gatorade or soda.
