I want to find a quiet spot that overlooks a city to take a date to "watch the lights". I used to go to one in Palos Verdes when I was a kid but can't remember how to get to it. Can anyone help with directions?

If you would like a location that gives a panorama of the beach cities may I suggest Lunada Bay just off Paseo del Mar in Palos Verdes Estates. Wear good shoes if you plan on walking down to the beach because the trail from the parking area to the beach is kinda steep. You have a much better view of the town(s) from the parking area. If you go to "Mapquest" you can get either driving directions or an aerial view of the area.

There's a nice residential area in Rancho Palos Verdes /Rolling Hills that offers a view of the city lights, and a portion of the road has benches.
