Hi, i'm considering getting a monroe done. I've been told i "have the right face for it" and i think it's beautiful, but i have a lot of doubts, questions, and concerns.

1. What are the chances of getting it infected? because i need all real jewelery because my skin gets infected easily.

If it does get infected, will it mess up my face in any way, shape or form? I mean, i know theres always a slight chance something could go wrong, like getting my gums infected and stuff;

about how long will it take to heal?

and finally, where could i get a REAL stud at?

Infection is very unlikely if you go to a clean and reputable piercer and take care of your piercing as you are instructed to do so.

If it does get infected, as long as you take care of the infection right away, you will have minimal problems. As soon as you detect troubles, see your piercer and get their advice then take things from there. Gum and teeth damage in minimal when the piercing is placed properly.

As far as healing it takes about 6 weeks to heal, after that point, you can wear whatever type of jewelry you like and you are able to remove the jewelry and wear retainers without risk of hurting the piercing. Someone stated that a monroe wont' migrate, that is not true. If pierced with incorrect length and gauge jewelry, you can experience embedding which is unpleasant and painful.

Keep in mind that is VERY rare if the piercing is pierced correctly and you take care of it.

For finding 'real' jewelry, you would have to ask your piercer if they have the specific type you need. Most piercings are done with surgical grade stainless steel which few people have problems with. You can also try titanium if you are that sensitive to metal.

As with any piercing, they can get infected at any time. Have you had any other piercings before? You should really make sure that your body isn't overly sensitive to it before you get something directly on your face. If you don't like it, you won't be able to take it out until the infection is gone and it is done healing.

Any piercing will leave a scar. You can minimize it by keeping it clean and using vitamin E once you take it out. Luckily, a monroe won't migrate so you won't have to worry about that.

You may want to consider the placement and your teeth. Any piercing that touches your teeth and gumlines can cause major damage (and ridiculously expensive dental bills!).

My friends have had their's heal at varied times--anywhere from 2-6 months. Take into consideration things like humidity, make-up, and how much you touch your skin.

Ive pierced my lip and i still have a scar from it being infected.
I dont think it would be a good idea if you get one if your skin gets easily irritated or infected.

nose has thick cartilage. the monroe doesn't hurt that bad, just a little pinch and maybe some soreness.
