You said "I just don't get it." Well brother (or sister) I get it. You should wear this experience like a badge of honor. Your persecution labels you as a believer and a follower of Christ.
James 1:2
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
NIV
Matt 5:10
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
NIV
2 Tim 3:12-13
12 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted ,
13 while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
NIV
I pray that you will always stand for Christ. Therefore, I pray that you will always be counted among the persecuted. Remember, dogs don't bark at parked cars. You gotta be movin and doin things to draw attention and persecution. GOOD GIRL!

People are hateful because they have learned to be hateful. Cruelty is some people's attempt at a defense, even when they aren't under attack. Its something that takes shape in many people because of many factors, like how they were raised, or past experiences, or the influence of their peers. It may hurt, but to understand is to forgive. You may not know WHY they act this way, and you can't excuse it, but what you can know is that it wasn't something that they probably meant, and if it was, they were wrong to express it that way. Some people just feel elevated by being harsh to others...but inside they are weak and helpless, and that is their cover. Instead of being sad for what they said and did, understand that the only way you can have a chance to change that is by being a bigger person. I don't take a position on abortion and I don't claim to be a Christian in the traditional sense of the word, but I do respect Christian ethics and morals and Christ said "Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you." and that is very good advice.
The best thing to do is endure it with kindness, patience, prayer, and love, and not to let it get to you. Be strong. Maybe by your influence, they might be subtly touched for the better.

God bless you for your efforts, and for the suffering you endured in His name. Jesus will not forget what you did.
Forgive them and pray that God blesses them. They are obviously in need of serious prayers. People do a lot of mean things, but don't let it get to you.
Think about this: on some level they care, because they gave you a reaction. If they didn't care, they wouldn't have reacted at all. See the blessing? God knocked on their heart through you, and even though their reactions were disgusting, they reacted. It means you got to them. Think about all of the people that sadly could care less one way or the other. That's a truly frightful thing.
Keep strong, keep the faith, and stand tall for God. He loves you for it.
God bless, and take care.

Keep your eyes on the Lord. Your age and your youth have not prepared you for the real world. Sometimes it can be very cruel. But just know this--God will protect you in these situations. I am sure there must of been a Pastor or another adult in charge. You can always depend on the people in charge of these anti abortion rallies to keep you safe as well.
God will bless you for getting the message out that abortion kills babies. Keep the faith and God bless you!

Explain?
You're kidding right??? Mutual respect? Civility? Tolerance?
You have the guts to take a public stand on one of the most heated, controversial topics in society today, and then wonder why you encounter hostility and venom spitting?
Welcome to adulthood. This is the real world. People have opinions, and they don't always express them like Miss Manners. If you can't take the heat, then go back to your sheltered little life in the woods, babe.
Absolutely unbelievable! Where do these people come from?

You certainly have a right to protest peacefully. But if they disagree, they also have a right to express their disagreement. The right to protest runs both ways, and there is no guarantee in the constitution that you will never have to hear an alternative point of view. The guys were trying to upset you, and because the did, they won. If you want to get back your power over your mind, find a way inside yourself to be grateful that both you and they live in a country where freedom of speech allows you both to express your opinion.
By the way, to say you were hurting no one is your opinion, but there are opinions that say otherwise. There are hundreds of women in El Salvador, Chile and Nicaragua who are now serving up to 30 year prison sentences for having an abortion because the Catholic church encouraged the legislatures there to pass such laws. Their vaginas are examined by doctors against the woman's will because the police consider their vaginal area a crime scene. Consider that what you are asking for, and what the ramifications would be. It could be a friend of yours who decides later to have an abortion, and if laws like El Salvador's pass, you may never see that girl again.

If you were near an abortion clinic, it might have been the fact that you were injecting more grief into women who were already feeling guilty about getting an abortion. If it was elsewhere, then their retaliation was completely unjustified.

I went to get an exam (pap smear, etc) & protesters tried to stop me from going in assuming I was going to have an abortion. Is that right?
