My family & I are keeping our grandmothers half-poodle, half-terrier for the next week. When my parents first brought him home, he was all over me & he followed me everywhere ( I should note that I was one of the first males that he ever encountered while he was staying with my grandmother, & that he was all over me then too). But after I came back from work the other day ( I worked 9 hours) he started growling and barking at me. Now he won't come near me, all over my younger sister. What happened?

You left him and he feels abandoned by you. Your younger sister was there so he took his affection to her and she treated him kindly. Give him his space and eventually he will learn, he just needs time.

You'll have to put some thought into this.
First, is he just more interested in your sister now, or is he still disturbed by the sight of you? (It's not too weird that this happened one time; something about the way you came in, a hat or something you were carrying, or something else that happened about then, could have confused him.)
If he is still freaked out by you, are you wearing something different, or is there a strange scent from where you work? Is there something different about the way you come in the door?
You never know what is going to disturb some dogs. I had a terrier that was afraid of cameras and cardboard tubes. I swear, she had never been harmed by either one! Once she went into the living room and accidentally knocked down an empty wrapping paper tube that was leaning against the wall. She wouldn't go back in the living room for 2 days! Otherwise she was quite normal.
Try winning him back with some treats or anything else you know he really likes.
