Islamically, we're supposed to douche. However, medical science has determined that douching isn't very safe for women. It can spread bad bacteria within the vagina and up to the cervix. Also, it decreases the chance of pregnancy by some percentage (forgot the number) Also, supposidely..the vagina cleans itself? So, it doesn't make any sense to douche..but if you're muslim..you know we've been taught to douche quite frequently..it's for hygene purposes..and it's Sunnah.

I'm sorry, I don't know you're customs, but from the secular viewpoint, you should not douch b/c it upsets the natural balance of your body and could in the long run make you sick or expose you to more infections. I would hate to think that's required of you b/c of religious reasons.

I'm not totally familiar with that part of Islamic culture, but maybe as a compromise you could douche your buttocks and not your genitalia.

You can compromise. You don't have to stick the nozzle all the way in. As long as there is an empty bottle...

I'm pretty sure from personal experience that the vagina does not clean it self. I've been down there in the trenches and from time to time things were less than rosie. Sometimes it's like licking the shithouse door on a tuna boat. Other times it's like sweet nectar.
