Ya. I was "normal" and pretty smart, but i never really wanted to go hang out with my friends or go anywhere until i was between 15-16. Most will want never come home by the time they are 16, but there are few people who NEVER want to leave home.

Yes and no. You should encourage him to get out more and make friends because going to high school with no friends could probably be hard on a kid. However, you should also encourage his studies because school is just as important. Maybe have him try playing sports, that's how a lot of kids make friends, plus it's good for them to get out.

a smart 14 year old boy probally dosent have much in common with other kids his age. if you are talking about yourself, dont worry about pier pressure to get out and party. its a waste of time, and your brain.

Smart kids are one with social skills and by getting out they can further these now make sure hes save and well watched, but if you want a smart healthy child make sure they get out and with you, make sure not to lose touch. Baseball games, or Tech shows in town if thats what they like. You have to make sure they are getting out there in a healthy social enviorment.

i wonder if the problem is the fact that he is smart and there is nothing out there that keeps his interest because everything is to boring to him. I would suggest finding somethings that would challenge him so he wont be so bored.. Like take him some place like a art gallery or museum, things like that..

Yes it's completely normal, you spend too much time hitting the books, get out of the house go see a movie, go hit on girls. you'll have the res tof your life to be smart and boring.

I was an honor student and didnt' have a life until I hit my third year of college. It seems like those who do well in school, tend to be socially slow. Sad, but true.
