I tie the drawstrings at the bottom, then tuck them into my boots. its alot easier than using 25 cent blousing straps.

OMG, I have read these answers and I can't believe what I am reading. During Basic some units require soldiers to tuck them in. The are folded over and tucked. After Basic, you can tuck or wear them out. I personally wear them out I use a Greenie (most Military Installations will have them), they are what looks like two cloth rubberbands twisted together with hooks on each end. You tuck your BDU bottoms into these and put them at the top of your boot but no further than the second string hole on your boots. There are also Blousing Straps, when you tuck, you have these 1 and a 1/2 inch straps that hold your bottoms tucked neatly into your boots. They are worn on the outside of the pant but the inside of the boot, it basically keeps the fold together. You do not have to use either one of these devices, you can use the string to pull them together in a sort of scrunch and they will lay at the top of your boot the same but they will fit more loosely than the Greenies. The Greenies cost about .50 for a set at most Military Clothing Sales. I believe you can also buy them at Blackhawk.com or Rangerjoe.com

BDU PANT CAN BE TUCKED INTO THE BOOTS BUT IT MUST LOOK LIKE THEY ARE BLOUSED. YOU CAN ALSO USE THE DRAW STRING OR BOOT BLOUSERS

My fiance is in the military. I have watched him get into his BDU's many times, and he always tucks his into his boots.

They usually use blousing (sp?) straps here. They only tucked them into their boots for Warrior Week during BMT.

Some guys are just having them altered, cut off the bottom and have elastic sewn in.

NAh. Not any more. We did that back in the 80s. I wear almost nothing but boots and NEVER tuck them in anymore. Just not a good look anymore. Worked in '88, but not now.

you can tuck them in or there is an unkown object to me, basiclly a rubberband placed over your leg, your pants go over the rubberband, find the rubber band thru your pants, and then roll your pants up into the inside of your pant leg between your leg and the rubber band. you are basicly cuffing your pants on the inside and holding them up lke that with the pants inbetween your rubber band and your leg. Did I confuse you? I don't even understand what I wrote!

Usually you do both tie the draw string at the ankle and then put your boots on and lace up.
