How does an Organization that helps Military Families get Chartered?

What do I have to do to get my Organization Chartered?

There are already so many organizations out there, can't you just link up with one that is already established? Then you don't have to learn bookkeeping and everything.

In the U.S., to get established as a nonprofit organization, you have to go through the IRS, and it takes about six months and $500, plus lots of paperwork. It would be better to find an organization that already exists, like a church, and establish a program within their charter.
