I wanted to know if that would be enough to make a start...and I wanted to move one in a surburb, does anyone know of a city that is nice, not too expensive but near the city?? It would help also if someone could tell me the name of some really nice popular LA apartments.

Check out apts in Montrose, La Crescenta, Glendale, Burbank, and Pasadena. All safe and somewhat affordable. The rents can really range greatly...so don't get discouraged, you should be able to find something you like that is still affordable. Do you have a job waiting? If not, if you get one quickly, your savings should hold you over just fine. Be prepared to pay first and last months rent and a security deposit. You can always shop at thrift stores and such for furniture until you can afford something else.

Commuting in LA is horrible. First find out where you are going to be for 40 hrs a week, then try to find something close by, or if you are lucky, within fixed rail commute from the job

Dance P is correct. Get that job first and build your living arrangements around it because your head will spin with the difficult commute from one place to another around LA.

Of course that's enough. Just get a job quickly, the cost of living is quite high in L.A.

Your wasting your time. It may be fun sometimes but you will meet crime and your cup will runneth over.
