I joined this matchmaker sort of website, and it's free to join, but you need credits before you can respond to anyone's e-mails. I think that it's one credit to respond to one e-mail, and 4 credits cost $25, which makes one credit a little over $6. Does this sound like a scam?

It kind of sounds fishy. I know of one that is legit. You will have to go there to check it out. You can login and get a free profile and then you will have to pay to speak. This site is http://personaldatefinder.diydating.com You can meet and chat with singles all over the world or where you are.

It's a good thing you just joined and didn't purchase any credits because that sounds like a very pricey website. Considering how it's on the web you can possibly say that about all dating sites that require payment just to chat...so "YES" it sounds like a scam for love...but no worries..there are other dating sites out there which are not so pricey or are free. Try these:

http://personals.yahoo.com/ (actual dating site personals via yahoo--cost)
www.webmate.com (more community based communication--free)
www.okcupid.com (dating site/testing site--free)

Good Luck and be Safe...(smiles)

either its a scam or a very pricey dating site ... better be one hell of an e-mail for that! You might want to check out some other sites ... for that price you could probably buy a whole lot of credits or a membership for a month.

Don't join that, you never know who your matched up with and they take your money until they get off the site and make more scam sites. These people make scam sites to collect money and use for fraud.

oh yeah...everything has a catch. any time that it charges just to talk to someone instead of the service then it's not worth it.
