I may have been misinformed but I was told various airlines allow you to use their airport club rooms at no charge when you hold a certain credit card. I believe it was one of the American Express cards. Delta, US Airways may be among those which allow guests with the card. Have you ever heard of this?

American Express has a special benefit with their Platinum Card. Continental, Northwest and Delta Airlines currently participate in the program. Platinum cardholders have the benefit of access to the airport clubs on the day of travel as long as you have an ID, your card, and your ticket.

Check out the American Express website for more information:

The fine print on credit cards if always tricky. Sometimes they make you think you can do something only to have you realize that you have to pay extra.

I have never heard of any airline credit card giving you acces to the airlines first class lounge. If so, I would ceratinly sign up. That would be way tomuch of a benefit for the cardholder and cost to the airline or card company. Those lounges are very expensive and the airlines like to keep the crowds to a minmial also.

I worked for Delta Airlines for seven years. You cannot get into the airport lounge by simply having the Delta Skymiles Amex. You can purchase a visit at the airport. I can't recall the exact amount but it was between 25-50 dollars.

Cheers
