It's been 2 weeks and that side of my mouth hurts when I eat. What could it be? It started hurting 3-5 days after I visited the dentist..

HELP!

Mmmm...that is not normal...you might be sore for a few days...but hurt like that...I would go ASAP back to that dentist and ask him to take a look at his work right away...

Is your pain on the gums or the teeth themselves there is a difference. It could be the filling material is conducting hot and cold, things such as ice cream or soups. A lot of times after a filling is done the teeth or whole area where the work is done can be sore or sensitive for several days or even weeks. If it persists speak to the Dentist and let him know. There are a lot of new materials that are on the market to reduce sensitivity when a filling is place only your Dentist can placed them though they can't be bought over the counter. I would talk with your Dentist as soon as possible to alleviate your pain

it sounds as though you now have an infection,you should go see him or a gp qck smart as this pain will only get worse.if you phone your dentist and explain to the receptionist she should make a appointment a.s.a.p ,good luck!
