Would you say "so and so will help me at the time of need" or "so and so will help me in the time of need"?

what exactly is the time of need? Is it your time of need or the time of need for a nation, or civilization, or a family?
I think the better phrase would be my time of need, personal opinion here.
but as far as grammar, both can be used.
at time of need sounds suspiciously like they are planning that needy time for a precise date or location that should happen only once.
Whereas in time of need, seems a little more desparate for needing support. I suposse it is a couple of prepositions that depending on where you live could go either way.

People usually use "In the time of need." Actually, I normally see "in my time of need," but that's okay.
