I just got a new laptop and can't really afford to buy MS Office but I really need to do some spreadsheets. Is there any good freeware for that? Preferably not limited trials, just ones I can keep!

Try OpenOffice which is completely free. If you don't mind working online you can try Google Docs which includes spreadsheets. You can also try the windows version of Gnumeric.

Microsoft Office basic edition is completely FREE. It doesn't cost anything at all. How could you not afford FREE? Get it at Office.com.

docs.google.com has an online spreadsheet that you can share. A more complete desktop option is openoffice.org. It can open and save word and excel files and is free.
