You must call the airline before purchasing the ticket. Some airlines consider any child under 15 to be a minor, others 13. If the child is not accompanied by an adult, there is a fee of $50.00 or $60.00 for the unaccompanied minor. You must provide information on who will recieve the child at the destination. That person must show proper identification to recieve the child at the destination. A flight attendent is responsible for the child on the plane and during any layovers. Most airlines will not accept a child under 6 if travelling alone. But DO call before purchasing the ticket or you could have big problems at the airport.

Being a flight attendant, I've had many many unaccompanied minors. I've never had a problem with them before, except for a set of twins about 8 years old. If you're child is young but can behave, there shouldn't be a problem. If they are mischevious and getting into trouble a lot, then I would wait for them to be a little older. To be honest with you, children do get lost and do get misplaced while flying alone. They are a top prioritiy but as you know, you can't trust everyone. If you think you're child could find their way to the appropriate adult if the are misplaced, then I wouldn't be worried.

I would say below 7 years old. I am under 18 and I will be traveling to Germany this summer by myself unaccompanied, sometimes the airlines require you though to pay the unaccompanied minor fee if they are under a certain age, it depends on the airline. Call your airline or your travel agent and they will work it all out with you or for you.

All airlines enable all childrens 15 and over to shuttle as adults. the subject is, motels do not enable human beings under 18 to get a room. Your mom and dad would desire to be certain a answer, or one desires to flow with you.
