There is no set time it completley depends on your immune system, how long it takes you to seroconvert (ooo fancy word that means how long it takes for you to form antibodies against the virus). i'm pretty sure the normal range is 2 weeks to 6 months. if you have an exposure, like with health care workers and contaminated needle sticks, they check on you for six months and if your six month test comes back nonreactive they you are cleared.
There are very, very rare cases where the affected individual never serocoverted (never formed antibodies) and so their HIV test never flagged positive. They discovered it when in full blown AIDS. sad

Do you mean how long until you test positive? It can take quite awhile. You should b tested immediately, and then repeat the test every 6 months. If you are clean for 2 years, then you should be fine. However, if you know you were exposed to HIV, then you need to talk to your doctor about your options.

in case you imagine you've been uncovered on the instantaneous bypass to a well-being middle or emergency room interior seventy 2 hours and ask for therapy. If treated early on you've a miles more desirable chance of not contracting HIV, do not wait until eventually that's too late and also you've HIV. They (well-being middle) might want to provide therapy in case you imagine you've been contaminated.

test at least every six months, it can take that long to be detectable in the system, and it can stay in remission for years, there are people they are still watching that it is just sleeping, many are beginning to believe it is actually a whole gambit of similar viruses lumped together that all work differently and react differently

from what i know, up to 5 months. dont check right away cuz itll most likely come out negetive. if you check after 5 months and it comes out positive, check again at least once cuz it'll sometimes be wrong.

the gestation period can take as long as ten years between getting HIV and getting AIDS. However, I do believe that when you contract the virus you test positive within days.
