How do you deal with this. Should I write him back. Should I not answer him. This really makes one feel worthless. How can you tell someone you love them and they mean the world to you and then they send you an email breaking up with you. It hurts so much! I just don't know what to do. He's in his 30's.

In his email, he asks if we can meet at lunch to say our goodbyes. The reason I said he was in his 30's is so you would know he is not in high school and is an adult. I'm 8 years older than he is.

I think the smartest thing to do is to not give him the satisfaction by emailing back. The normal emotional response though would be to send him a scathing email telling him how much you resent him for being such a jerk and how much of a coward he is for breaking up with you via email.

Don't give him the satisfaction of seeing your misery. Pretend like it's no big deal and you could care less.

It sounds like he is a loser and not worthy of your love anyway. You deserve a real man...

You should not write him back or try to conatact him any other way if there is no reason to. He took the easy way out by sending an email to you, reminds me of elementary school and writing stupid little notes back and forth. Very immature and doesn't even deserve to be dealt with. If he cared at all or was even close to being a real man he could've at leasted talked to you about it. Don't let it make you feel worthless, there's no point in it. He's the childish one who did this. But i do have to ask, you point out he is in his 30's, just how old are you? I suspect there is more to this story.

Tacky. Just tacky.

Let him go. There are three words you need to keep in mind:

Honor, dignity, and grace - keep your wits about you. You may feel like jumping out of your skin, contacting him, phoning him, whatever. DON'T. DO. IT. Don't do it.

You should not respond. Let it go. You will be prolonging the agony if you contact him. What if he doesn't respond? It's time to move forward. It's okay to grieve for the loss, in fact it's healthy to let it out.

But accept that it is over. Keep us posted. Check in and ask a question instead of calling. Come here and help others with your wisdom. You can get through this.

A person who "breaks up" over an email is a coward. You deserve better.

nicely, it quite is pathetic. That guy has no guts in besides. you do no longer would desire to do something, you're probable extra constructive off with out him, if he does not even have the decency to %. up the durn telephone and punch on your huge type! while you're incredibly feeling down, you will desire to get a set of friends together, get some popcorn, goldfish crackers, and M&M's to make a funky snack blend, and then go get a humorous action picture you all can watch together. Laughter is the suited drugs!

I'd say it shows he didn't have the balls to do it in person, I'd say move on he's not worth the effort.
