It's horrible reasoning, but there's not a real alternative to smoking cigarrettes. Yeah, you can quit, but most of us don't want to and that would just put cigs in the same category as weed; Illegal but still common.
With trans-fats, I've never noticed a buzz or calming sensation from eating them *hell i don't know what they are, exactly* and really, the generall public won't miss it. Either the gov. really wants a healthier nation, or they're just on a power trip. I vote for the latter, but either way, if I hadn't read this post I woulda never known...

Banning of cigarettes is happening by fits and starts. It is becoming unlawful, in more and more places, to smoke in public. But I think that New York's action with respect to trans fats was overrreaching and inappropriate.

People are pawns. We have no say. We are being baby sat by the Government. Our choices are dwindling. Personally, I don't know who to believe anymore. I do know the Tobacco companies make big profit, but I also know that the "Special Interest" groups who have started their own crusade are making a bunch of money now to. Personally, I'm tired of being lied to. We are being deceived every day by people with deep pockets. None of them could care about the common people. All they care about is more money.

isn't long island city doing that already? Or, did they simply come out and do the final element and ban it. it somewhat is obtrusive that we don't desire transfats and that they are prevalent poisons that reason maximum cancers and coronary heart ailment and different wellbeing issues that they must only be banned. they have been medically shown to reason those illnesses. Ban them in the previous transfat lobbiests arise with our government like the tobacco industry has already.
