not a good idea to re pierce the same spot.. the skin is no longer skin it is scar tissue and makes healing rather difficult not to mention its hard for the needle to get through.

Hey,
Finally a question I can for sure answer haha, yes you can get it repierced in the same spot, I had it happen so I can tell you first hand. The first time I got it pierced they did it to close to the surface and they tell you to move the hoop around and clean it, well everytime I did that it stretched my skin a bit more and one night it fell out and my skin was split. I waited about a year( a little less) and I wanted to get it repierced so I went there and they did it in the same spot and I have to say it hurts a bit more because its scar tissue and its thicker, and you can hear it more when they stick the needle through cuz its tougher but its fine, Im not a big fan of pain and it didnt hurt bad at all( just a bit more of a shocker the second time) so good luck and hope that helps....P.s you'll have to wait for the skin to heal a bit and get back to normal but that doesn't take to long

Yes and no.
To determine the full damage of the area and the difficulty and likeliness to re-pierce the area you will have to show a professional piercer and explain to them the situation. Sometimes, if the scar tissue is too thick and hard, re-piercing is not an option or more time will be needed for your body to heal up a bit. Another factor to consider is that since the scar tissue is thicker and harder, if care is not taken, the piercing can end up crooked or may cause keloids to form.
I can't say for sure how well it will work, I cannot see the area to know, but my guess is that if you go to a smart and reputable piercer it should be able to be redone.

I had this done. I had problems with by belly-button piercing. It was like the skin just got really thin over it and it eventually was just barely being held in. But it only took a few months. I got it redone. OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It hurts like you know what the second time because of the scar tissue. My scar tissue got caught on one of the threads of the jewelry. Pain, pain, pain. I had it done as a surprise for my husband while he was in Iraq. He came home a few months later, but it was already out again. The same thing happened. The guy at the tattoo place said he'd only seen that a couple of other times, and he'd been working in the business for several years. He said it's called "migration". It's like your body rejects it because it's a foreign object. However, this might not be the case with you. Your's was in for 4 years, mine just a few months. Anyway, it hurts, hurts, hurts, but it's possible.

I had to get my belly button re-pierced and it doesn't look any different than how it was the first time.It just depends on the piercing place you go to.The person puts it in the same place it was before.Your scar won't be noticeable.

Why in the world would you want to? Belly piercings are gross, right up there with five earrings and a pierced nose, eyebrow, or tongue. Quit it! It's nature's way of telling you it was a stupid idea, and looks very bad.

Yes & No. It depends on how badly the tissue is ruined. If it is really scarred then you might not be able to but if it isn't really scarred then you most deffinitly will be able to. Hope I helped. :)

Yes, it is possible, but you need to stay awhile before you get it repierced so that the skin will get back to normal.
