you probalbly scrached your earing hole slightly just enough to break the skin and alowed a bacteria to get in there and cause an infection. Warm Moist protected areas make the best home for bacteria

i have an allergy to any earrings but gold. so i have had that problem. I cannot wear stainless steel earrings or anyother kind just gold
I have double ears and belly button. no more infections.

wear gold ear rings anywhere
clean with proxide once a week or so,,, soak rings in proxide for ten minutes rinse ( with drain plugged) and put back in clean proxide.
take shower was the prieced areas very good with tons of soap. then dry earring and put in for a week or two.

gold is the best but limits your earring choices because of the price

i've had my ears pierced for over 25 years now and they still sometimes get infected...try different backing for your posts...i stopped using metal back all together and now use plastic ones, try different type or earing, use only gold ones...and i do not change my earings often...i've been wearing 1 pair for over 5 years now and the second pair for 4 years, but i do take them out and clean them every few days

could be alergic to the type of metal the ear rings are made from.... my mom can only wear real gold in her ears or her holes get infected.
soak the earing in alcohol for awhile before you put them in and clean your ear ring holes with peroxide.
