Take a really steamy shower, and while you are in the shower, jump up and down (if you know Irish dance, go ahead) and try to hawk up a loogie while inhaling the gaseous waterous vapors.

Try using MucoStop-- it's an enzyme formula that breaks down the mucous proteins. There's also Ness enzyme formulas, but I'm not sure which formula it is that is for congestion, and there's probably other ones out there that you could ask your pharmacist about if you don't have Ness or MucoStop. I've heard that bromelain works well for congestion too. You might want to check health food stores if your pharmacy doesn't carry enzymes.

Put some peppermint tea bags and chamomile tea bags in a large pot full of water, set it to boil. Take off the heat when it does start to boil, let it cool down a little. Place your head over the steam, putting a towel over your head. Try breathing through your nose, if you can't then breath through your mouth till you can breath through your nose. You don't need the tea bags, but the peppermint opens up your blood vessels near the skin, helping bring your congestion up.
