the cake was obviously too rich for her. If i were you i would not feed her for 24 hours, if you think she is desperately hungry then give her 1 or 2 kibbles. She has an upset stomach, and the more you feed her the more you are feeding the fire. Give her stomach some rest and only offer ice cubes for 24 hours, if she hasnt cleared up by tomorrow evening you may want to have her looked at by a vet.

How much cake? What kind of cake? Unless she is a small pup and ate a big pice of cake, it probably won't bother her any more. I would feed her a light bit of dog food tonight and see if she holds it down. Then feed her the regular amount tomorrow if she is okay. If the cake made her really sick, she would not be wanting to eat. Sounds like she is doing fine.

Just to be on the safe side, keep her away from food for 24 hours. That will give her tummy time to really calm down. Make sure she has access to plenty of water though.

Then keep her away from anything except her puppy food; puppies shouldn't have access to cake or things like that.

As long as it wasn't chocolate you may not need to take her to the vet. The best cure I know of for dogs vomiting or with diarrea is cooked oatmeal. Cook it until it goes past being recognisable as anything intended to be eaten, it will be sort of a goopy mess. Let it cool and serve it to your pup. You will be surprised that they want to even eat it but they will and it works.

CHocolate is bad for dogs and she'll puke like it was food poisoning. Sweet is bad enough and too rich.

Like a baby, be sure she is not dehydrated and give water. Stop feeding for today and tomorrow give a bit of boiled rice and boiled hamburger at feeding time, more later.

I work for a vet, rule is no food for 24 hours after vomiting, giving their stomach time to settle, If she is very small breed , it is easy for their sugar to get low and then to get weak if they don't have food for 24 hours, so keep karo sryup on hand, if she seems weak of lethagic, give her a could of drops. then go back to feeding, but small amounts at first.

I'd take her to the vet just to be safe.
Especially if it's chocolate cake.

Was it chocolate cake? If so, immediatly go to your vet.

If not, then everything is fine. The reason your puppy threw up is because she isn't used to eating anything other than dog food. If you continue her regular eating habits, everything should be fine.

i know this works. if the vommiting doesn't stop, get some pumpkin seeds or pumpkin and give it to her, or liquify it in a smoothy and put some meat in it. it does work, i know people who tried it.
