To be more spacific .I was cooking lunch for my two year old we were home alone the phone rang.When I looked at the caller ID as I usually do the number ,much to my dissmay was my own .I called the phone company to find out how this could happen ,and they act like I am making the whole thing up .I know I am not losing my mind when my husband came home I showed him .He too was freaked out .Is there an explanation for this weird occurance?

Not weird at all. When I was young, think Vietnam War, we use to call the other phones in the house all the time by simply dialing a certain two digit number than clicking the button. Use to drive my mother crazy doing that, until she learned what we were doing.

Yes there is an explanation and I know how to do it. You can take it on faith or not, but I am not about to teach the little cretins on here how to do it.
if your phone blocks unknown numbers it will also make the person on the other end enter their phone number before it goes through if they have an unlisted number. They can enter any number though, my kids call from school and enter "1" and it will show as "000-000-0001" There are many explanations.

Probably telemarketers or something. Or some malfunction. Chillax.
If I had a penny for every time technology didn't work as somebody expected, I'd be able to build a castle out of them.

It happened to us also, and to many others. It's an app that you can purchase to make your number any number you want it to be. You're not going crazy. It's just someone with nothing better to do than prank others.
