how do christians seem to think that jesus has done things for them in their lives, from the seemingly small ("Jesus really helped with that algerbra test last week") to the larger scale (feeling that your current overall happiness is because jesus has took care of you and your life) and yet seem to be so oblivious to how harsh lfe is for many on this earth and how obviously absent the hand of providence is for HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of humans?

it's probably becuase THOSE people didn't technically believe in jesus, i guess.

it's because they want to believe he exists, they don't know for sure, but they sure do hope! Obviously God, nor Jesus didnt' bless them with anything, if that was the case, that would mean that all those who have worshipped him from the beginning and still have crap and only crap, were ignored by God, people are just stupid and don't realize that life is what happened to them, life, fate and the decisions of elements made whatever happened to them possible.

Jesus "HAS" done things for me, I have no doubt what so ever it was Jesus and His healing touch that cured me of an incurable intestinal disease.
The Doctors call it a miracle, and that just what it is, a miracle from the touch of the Lords hand.

Not every Christian are just going by what they have read, there are many that have had supernatural experiences from God

I do however respect those who don't believe, and they in turn should respect those who do believe.

There is to much bashing going on from both sides, not from just the nonbelievers, but some of the believers are just as bad.

There are however those from both sides that respect others opinions and that's how it should be.

Life can be harsh for all of us sometimes. I know I can't compare myself to some people who have suffered worse things than I ever have, but I know Jesus was there for me when times were the roughest and that's how I've made it through.

It isn't just people who don't believe in Jesus who suffer great things. Paul was thrown in prison, early Christians were martyred, and in some places today Christians are still persecuted. Yes sometimes we forget these things when we are all caught up in our own little worlds, but God has not abandoned anyone who suffers pain. Jesus knows pain and suffering and knows what they are going through.

So why do you think you believe that your parents have done anything in your life for you, from the little things such as wiping your little behind when you were a baby, to the big things like providing you with health care when so many in the world are living in dirt without diapers or medical care that their parents can't afford? What are you doing about it? Atleast we are praying about the things we cannot change while you sit idle judging and complaining. I know what my God has done for me, just as you know what anyone in your life has done for you.

It says in the Bible that it rains on the just and the un-just.Christians have many things to go through just like anyone else. Many sicknesses, loss loved ones etc...But one thing We have that those who don`t believe and use prayer,is that we have God.And We get peace that passes all understanding. You have to have faith for prayer to work and you must believe in the higher power of God.

People of faith tend to believe that their deity helps them. I don't see anything wrong with that.

I certainly don't support the suggestion that people without a deity are somehow being punished, though!

If something good happens, its a blessing. If something bad happens, it a test, or for a higher reason beyond understanding. You can't argue with that kind of logic (unfortunately) which is why they use it.

Could be. But then again Jesus was only God, it's not like he could be everywhere at once.

Bless your heart.

Well its because when you are saved, born again and filled with the Holy Spirit, you see Him in everything. The Bible says the earth and all in it are His, and when the word dwells in you, it makes Him seen everywhere.

Alot of people who are not living by the Spirit also say it because it makes them sound spiritual.

Blessings,
David T
