I have this guy friend who i've hung out with a few times. We planned something for Friday, and he asked me if it was a date. I thought he was joking and brushed it off.
Earlier today I text messaged him, asking if it would be ok if another mutual friend went with us. He texted me back saying, "oh, so it's not a date?".
Do you think he was serious? I thought that we were just friends. We joke around a lot, so that's why I can't decide whether he thought it was a date or not. Thanks for the help!

He HOPED it was a date, because he's started liking you more than just as a friend. You crushed his hopes when you talked about bringing a friend along - ESPECIALLY if it was a MALE friend!! So yes, he did think it was a date!

Seems like u guys definitely need to find out where your relationship stands.Maybe he wanted sum alone time with u so he could express that side of him that u don't get to see when he's making u laugh. Or he could wanna know what u think so he can perhaps clear things up about your friendship. Either way u guys need to communicate so ur on the same page about things b4 a good friendship goes sour....or an oppurtunity for a b/f passes by!

Friends who are guys and girls a lot of times end up dating. He probably would like to take it to the next level. You should consider it.

I sounds like a date... So next time be more careful, when you say things like that... He might have had the idea that It was a date... and I don't blame him. I really think he thought it was a date... so talk to him...

If it's just the two of you, it's considered a date, even though yall are just friends. I would think he was kidding around with you, being that yall joke around alot.

i think he was trying to make it sound like he was kidding... but he wishes it was a date. Do you like him? If so I think you should actually ask him on a date. a real one.

he would probably like it to be a date....but he will be ok if it isn't....its tough for some guys to be friends with women....if you guys joke around alot he probably has feelings for you beyond a friendship
