Reb, I know you mean well, but look at the disciples. Each, when asked that question, said "no not me Lord." and all fell away. Yes I know that aside from John all died a martyr's death and finally lived up to the promise, but they finally got "it."

I suggest we not look to dying that way and instead choose to live and serve him well with a good accounting of ourselves. Then if the day comes and for some it will be too soon we shall be able to do it and not guess whether we can or not.

What does it matter, according to your idiotic faith (meaning only backwater American Protestants) You can be a nonbeliever and a serial killer your entire life, then have a death bed conversion "confessing" the name of Jesus...... So in your effed up world, you can actually have your cake and eat it too.

Hmm.. Temporary life in this sinful world or an eternal life in paradise? I think I'll take eternity in paradise. Amen. He who loves his life will lose it but he who surrenders his life for my names sake shall have it more abundantly. It is by faith I say that the old man of sin is dead on the cross and that I am resurrected with him in his glory to worship him in spirit and truth.

Define "confessing the name of Jesus". What is that?

I'm an atheist. Without a doubt, I would rather live rejecting that corpse.
