I don't understand the question for sure. You can install walls for a tub over tiles if there is room and irf you can cover the bottom, top and edges so it looks right I suppose. Though I'd rather have tile myself, it's more durable. you can regrout tile if it's looking bad. You have to gouge out the grout, there is a tool and put new grout in and then seal the grout once it dries. If you are putting up walls it must be the green water safe board for around a tub. A common cure for the bathtub blues is a product called "Bathfitter", full tub and surround product ( among other trade names). Single day installation is usual, and looks great. Shy away from the 3-piece do-it yourself products. My experience shows you will be dealing with the same problem again, sooner than you think.
