Two fatwas can be in opposition to each other, but it depends on who issues a fatwa.

A fatwa is a religious order which is valid to a given on a set of conditions. It is an opinion of a scholar, which can change according to the individual.

But a scholar of a higher authority will definitely be more learned, matured to pass a correct verdict. So his fatwa will override another less knowledgeable one. But its solely related to the knowledge.

I dunno but I often wonder how these Arab extremists keep track of all their fatwas. Do they have a blackberry or a list under all those robes? Or is it under the wrap on top their heads? And what happens if they mix up the fatwas and go after the wrong guy for the wrong thing. For example, the grocery store shorted me! Jihad on them! Then later they forget and end up dragging the angry mob to the wrong store? Bet they feel pretty silly.

Then do they meet for lunch and compare fatwas? Guy A says to guy B, "So how many do you have?" Guy B, "Ten and damn is it ever stressful!"

lol.

screw fatwas, go read the QUran and see what God has to say for HIMSELF. To me, that is true Islam. Peace.

Go to your local mosque, and ask them this question. They might give you a warm welcome. Then again they might stone you to death.
It might be safer to buy a book on Islam and do the research.
