Right , I'm sorry but I only have a few seconds to type this in. Anxiety does not have to be part of your life. Anxiety can be treated very effectively with out drugs but for best results you need to see a occupational therapist which your GP can sort out for you but may have to insist (and you should), and then attend a course (again the NHS run these for free but you may have to demand). This can be very scarey but If anxiety is getting in the way of your life you must do this. It CAN be a thing of the past in 6 months. I also HUGELY recommend that you take up some form of Meditation. Please. It also will help you so so much. I know what I'm talking about here. Good luck.

I realise this isn't the answer to your question but anxiety and panic attacks go hand in hand. I suffered from panic attacks for years, even to the point where sometimes I'd be in a queue in a shop minding my own business when suddenly one would hit me; you kind of bring them on yourself subconsciously.
Last summer I went to have it treated by a hypnotherapist (not a hypnotist!!), it was very relaxing, only took an hour total (15-20 minutes to do the main thing). I have never had one since and am so happy about it.
Whatever your view on hypnotherapy is, don't discount it - if you follow this route, make sure that the person doing it has a calming voice or you'll probably get no benefit.

If you're unable to seek professional help/or get a prescription for anti-depressants...maybe try St.Johns' Wort sold over the counter at any drug-stores. Good Luck to you.

I tried therapy, but ultimately the only thing that worked for me was drug therapy. I take an antidepressant and have xanax and klonopin in the reserves in case a panic or anxiety attack starts.

Make sure you talk to your doctor. Xanax will help. The main thing is to quit telling yourself that you can't go out and start telling yourself that you can. Your dr. will have some advice on prescriptions that will help. The best of luck to you.

Push on through it. It'll pass the more you fight it. It's a chemical reaction, nothing more.
