The more you read the Bible with your eyes open, the more chance you will become a believer!

Not sure if its "true" persay, but I've noticed (most particularly here on Yahoo Answers) that most atheists have read the bible, and rejected it. I know I did, but I'd pretty much already made my decision before that...

It helped me along my way.

But it as just as true that many people embrace Christianity after reading it.

It depends on whether it speaks to what you already feel inside or not.

it just depends on how you interpret it. i've read the bible, and though i disagree with many parts of it, i still believe. reading the bible was a great event in my life and is reestablished my faith.

That depends on the person.

If one ignores the contradictions as I once did, then no.
If, however, one does not, he may not become an atheist, but he will not accept the Bible as inerrant.

It'll make you think 'how the hell can anyone suggest we use this as a moral guide?'

It also says if you sass your parents - they should stone you to death.

No, not really, except you read the Bible with prejudice and faultfinding spirit.
