is it possible to record something off of youtube? if so is there any free software out there that one would use to do it with?

is there any way to record something off of youtube (WITH SOUND) to a computer?

first you open up youtube downloader and copy the url of the video you want. then paste the url on the youtube downloader. this will then save the video on you desktop. then you need to download a flv player to play these videos. but before you can play these videos you have to change these video file to a flv file. for example if the file is called video1. go to the file video1 and right click and select properties. then rename the file as video1.flv this will then be able to play on your computer. here are some links one for youtube donwloader, flv player, and article about this topic they had on CNET

Camtasia Studio, look it up on youtube and you will see that the recording quality is flawless.
