i gained ALOT of weight during my pregnancy. i've lost about 60 lbs. and i'm still overweight. my baby isn't even 4 months yet. give it some time for one. it took 9 months to put that weight on, it'll take alot longer than one month to take it off. a few things i did....walking at the park at least twice a week. NO more canned sodas (water and tea ONLY, and with sweet and low, NO sugar) i drink high preformance energy drinks from specialty stores (if your interested, i drink something called black pearl, or another one, its a small red can, red zone maybe?. it had NO caleries, fat, or sugars...) NO fast food, i've been eating lean pockets, lean cuisine, low fat EVERYTHING. i eat white wheat bread, 2% milk, baked chips, etc...
of course with the holidays here, it made everything very hard and ive put some weight back on. but, i'm not stressing over it....cause that makes loosing the weight even harder. just relax and give you and your body the time it needs to recover.
i've read that it can take a year if not longer for your body to fully recover after pregnancy and delievery....any way...hope that helps...

Eat fax seed, and drink plenty of water you will be amazed at the weight you will lose, grind it in a coffee mill and sprinkle it on your cereal in the morning, if you eat bread make sure it contains flax seed and whole wheat, any color seeds all are the same. 2 to 3 tablespoons a day is all it takes, I eat it at night and sleep like a baby, it fills you up and keeps the body regulated which when dieting can be a big help. Flax has a nutty flavor and you can even sprinkle it on ice cream but make sure you grind it otherwise it serves little purpose. Then walking and mild to moderate exercise and you should be fine in no time. Good Luck.

40 pounds is a significant amount of weight but the flab shouldn't be too much of a problem. Just don't do some stupid crash diet that makes you lose the weight within a few weeks. You have to lose the weight the right way in order to keep it off and get your old body back. It might take some time but if you are committed, it will be back in no time!

I am 28 weeks pregnant.
I am planning on continuing to work out for 2 more months and then take two months off.
After I give birth; I will be returning to Curves for women and doing at least 3-5 (30 min) workouts a week.
I also plan on breastfeeding; which is a huge factor in losing baby weight.
Otherwise; walk a lot, drink a lot of water and watch what you eat. (refer to the food guide; if in doubt.)
Good Luck to you (and me!)

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!

if you have the money i would say join a gym or even get a personal trainer.. they have people at LA fitness and such places that are trained specifically to help new moms lose baby fat. if you dont have that kind of cash, which is understandable, i'd say just get some home workout tapes and do them in between changing diapers... good luck and congratulations on your new baby!
