ok so im baking cookies right now. i made them for new years and they were perfect. but my brother didn't try those yet. so im trying to make them now and i want to impress him. so i was mixing all my stuff together, and i didn't want to mix the shortening myself, so i put it in the mixer and the shortening+brown sugar+sugar went tooooo creamy. so i just put all the rest of the ingredients in... when i went to go put them on the cookie sheet they were very sticky. so i tried adding more flour
still sticky, so i just tried to put them in anyway. i just took the batch out and when i poke them they sink in. what can i add to the rest of the mixture to make it ok again

please i really neeeeed the help

You probably still didn't add enough flour. You could just take your sticky balls and roll them into granulated sugar and then bake alittle longer. BTW, you can indeed beat your ingredients too much and it will cause them (the cookies) to spread, as will too little flour. Don't throw anything away! If all else fails, add in some oatmeal, until it feels right. good luck.

You need to start over. Baking is a science.. you can't add alittle more of this or that.

I don't think you can cream shortening and sugar too creamy. For next time.

Try refrigerating it for a while...
ten minutes or so...

Sometimes you need to mix or stir by hand rather than using a mixer.

Good luck!

Throw those out and start again - no way to save them that I know of.
