Sean: Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell are two people, who have said some of the most presumptuous statements. They do not speak for all Christians and I have found them very offensive, especially in jumping to dumb presumptuous conclusions about events occurring in the media and putting God's Name to it !

Anyone can "talk TO" God. Not everyone can get a response though. If Pat Robertson believes that God is telling him something then whatever he supposedly hears should be in line with what God has already said in the Bible. If he believes that God has revealed something that is going to happen in the future then Pat has set himself up to be judged by what the Bible says about people who claim to have a prophetic revelation from God.

Deuteronomy 18:21 And if you say in your heart, 'How may we know the word that the LORD has not spoken?'-- (22) when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.

No Pat Robertson can not talk to God any more than anyone else. It is amazing with religious people, there are always a select few who think that their morals are sent down by God and that you should follow their morals and beliefs (amazingly that is also their way of making judgment on you, but justifying them doing that). There is nobody on the planet who can "talk" to God, those who say they do so are only trying to control the minds and wills of the weaker minded of us on the planet. Their religions can not stand up to criticism nor logic. Is there a God? Who knows, but he certainly does not talk to anyone in particular. And those who spout off on Jesus Christ and worship him, does that not break the 1st Commandment? It certainly does as you are worshiping another entity above the God that created everything. One of those logic things again.

Are you sure you aren't thinking about what was on the news lately? About Robertson saying that God 'told him' there would be another terrorist attack on the U.S.?
I believe there are true people that have the gift of prophecy....but I honestly do not think Robertson is one of them.

But as you stated your question...yes...anyone can talk to God.

Sean;

Anybody can talk to God. It's called prayer. He gave us the answers in His book, the Bible. If you start hearing someone talking to you. You better challenge it! The words are coming from elsewhere.

I am not an M.D., so I cannot make a diagnosis regarding Mr. Robertson.
