Is it better off having it done by an expert?

You can do it. There are only 3 wires you need to mess with. 1 ground (black). 2 power (red). 3 the one that goes into the back of the stereo (blue). Hook the ground(black) up and than hook up your speaker/s than hook up the power(red) and than your radio(blue) and your done. Make sure you get a good clean connection or you could have real problems. Adjust it to how you want and your set.

Its not HARD if you understand how circuits and electrical wiring works. If your car is already wired with after market audio equipment, it is probably something you can do yourself. I suggest if you arent comfortable doing it, take it to shop to get it done. Pros can make the best of what you have to make it sound great, if they are good but thats a whole other issue. A clear and simple sign is to take a look at the wiring in the car, and if you get lost or simply spend more than 6 hours trying to figure out what the hell is going on... go to an expert.

i am 14 and had very little to no experience and did it within 1 to 2 hours
